I
have never in the past nor intend to in the future go abroad, when there are
many varied and beautiful sights to visit in this country. As you may know,
I'm quite a wild one, and love travelling around, always getting up to high
jinx somewhere or other. I nearly went abroad once, when some friends of mine
went for a week to Majorca, but unfortunately they didn't have time to ask me
before they booked it. I wouldn't have gone anyway, and instead went with a
great buddy of mine Mark Belcher to Yorkshire for 5 nights. Everyone knows him
as Belch, but I usually have to tell everyone that it was me who came up with
that hilarious nickname. For a right laugh, I actually burp at the same time
as saying Belch - once I did this in front of an old couple - but they couldn't
help but burst out laughing. Here's a photo of one of the highlights of the
holiday, when Belch met Dusty Bin off 3-2-1 at the Yorkshire TV shop. On the
photo Belch is trying to do that 3-2-1 thing with his fingers, he wasn't anywhere
near as good as me at doing it, in fact I kept the woman at the till amused
with my attempts for over 15 minutes and was just about to ask her out, but
unfortunately she suddenly had to take her turn in the store room.
Here's
the bed & breakfast room we stayed in, at Huddersfield, and boy did we need
a rest after the 2 hour bus journey, with only one 20 minute break. Although
it was an organised trip through the local church hall, there was some free
time for the more independent minded like me. In fact we were allowed two free
mornings, before boarding the coach again for that days itinerary. On the last
day, I used my charm on the tour guide to let me host the Bingo - needless to
say with hilarious results - if there was any top entertainment agents on the
coach, they would have signed me up for summer season on Broadway in America,
I called all the numbers out while doing impressions of famous people, including
Frank Spencer, Cliff Richards, Sean Connery, Jimmy Saville OBE and funniest
of all, kept saying wassup like on the Budweiser advert, for about 15 minutes.
