To many of my great friends and close family members, I am known as MR STYLE. There is always someone ringing me up, or maybe a gang of beautiful people surrounding me at Gateshead Indoor Market, and DEMANDING house style tips off me. (Please note - to date I don't charge for this service, although this could change at any time). It recently got to the stage where some friends of mine, aware of the above demands on me, stopped asking my advice, so I had to insist on going round to their houses and pointing out to them that they should decorate exactly as I had done. One of my bonkers gang, hilariously took out a court order to stop me going round to their house - all of my gang are bonkers by the way, all totally mad - especially me.
You never know what kind of nuts stunt we are going to pull next. Anyway, word of my style exploits must have got to the BBC, who approached me to do Changing Rooms. Well to be honest I don't like to prostitute my art and style talents, but Little Marc is keen on Scotch TV presenter Carol Smillie (he has every episode of Wheel of Fortune - when Carol was on it - on video), so I agreed to do it.

As you can see above, Carol and Little Marc really hit it off, especially when he showed her his deluxe shortbread tin collection.
I was on Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen's team, and although he is regarded as knowing more style stuff than anyone else in Britain, he insisted that I knew loads more than him. I didn't want to give too much away, but when Lawrence asked about my main sources of inspiration I confided to him in reverse order: The Italian Renaissance artists; the natural and organic colours of the great deserts; but top of the pile - the design pages in Bella and Take a Break.
To be honest, I couldn't tell you if the episode of Changing Rooms has been on yet, as I rarely watch telly, I prefer more intellectual pursuits like going round telling everyone I'd rather listen to Radio 4 or read a book - only joking fans, but seriously it clashes with 'When Animals Attack 3' on Sky.
