They might not be as fashionable as some of these modern alternative so-called comedians, like Lenny Henry or Micheal Barrymore, but there was a time when The Krankies were rarely off the telly. Wee Jimmy Krankie (played by his real life mother) was always up to mischief, when the dad/husband was trying to do something serious, usually with hilarious consequences - yes a bit like me, daft as a brush. I've actually got The Krankies LP (don't bother pestering me avid record collecters, it's not for sale). It contains their theme tune Fandabidozi, and loads of other great comedy classics, like Tony Macaronni - about an Italian waiter. I'll tell you this for free, one of those top DJ's will probably remix Fandabidozi, like Fattyboy Slim or Jive Bunny and score a MASSIVE Xmas No.1 in the hit parade with it.
Scotch eggs, mmmmm, I'm sure The Krankies loved them, they are one of my favourite snacks, and very underrated. If I'm at a do, say an engagement do, with some of my very close friends, you can guarantee late on when everyone's had a few, around 9.30, they'll all say 'go on Marc, do that great comedy gag with a Scotch egg' - well if there's one thing I hate, it's letting my fans down - so I put, and this is no exaggeration, a LARGE size Scotch egg in my mouth in one go. My friends all shout at once 'you are totally bonkers.'
